Troubleshooting problems with using custom queries from a drop-down data window in Jenzabar.

Body

Problem: A Jenzabar user is  unable to see custom queries from drop-down data window in Jenzabar.

Solution:

  1. Verifying System Registry
    • Open Regedit.exe and take a look at the registry to be sure that it’s pointing to the network location where the reports/queries are stored: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Jenzabar\EX\7\Folders

  1. If System Registryhas correct entries and the user is still unable to see queries, then continue to check for network permission:
    • Look up for the user account in AD and verify if he/she a member of the groups below.
      • USJ-Infomaker_Reports Read Only  (In order to see custom queries from drop-down data window in Jenzabar, a user MUST belong to this group)
      • USJ-Infomaker_Reports Write Access (Users belong in this group MUST have InfoMaker License to make changes in Reports/Queries)

*Networking Team can assist with adding a user to these Groups.

  2. If step 1 & 2 didn’t resolve the issue, the continue with this step
    • Run Regedit.exe again and look in the Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Jenzabar\EX\7\Modules\xx
    • If the user has a “Reports location” setting (see example bellow), check the data column to make sure it’s pointing to the correct query. If it’s not, just DELETE the module folder (For example, right click on the SA folder and select Delete).
*According to Jenzabar, if the Application sees an entry at this (HKEY_CURRENT_USER\xxx) location, it will never look into the (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\)

Run Jenzabar again and see if that resolves the issue.
