- USJ Visitor accounts can be temporarily assigned to outside users upon request from a USJ Staff/Faculty member and are not typically assigned for more than 1 week (7 calendar days) at a time unless approved by the Director of IT or Division VP.
- USJ Students cannot request these accounts unless they have approval via email from a USJ Staff/Faculty member.
- There is no MFA requirement for these accounts as they are local accounts to provide access to local USJ machines and USJ-WiFi. If access to external resources are needed, a named vendor account must be issued.
- No accounts will be issued without a ticket from a current USJ Employee.
- Accounts needing access to USJ Network Resources for longer than 1 week (or a single one-time event) should be considered for a named vendor account. The User/Company should have an ongoing relationship with USJ (ie. Sodexo, Slate, Jenzabar, etc.) and the requesting Department Head must approve/confirm the request. These accounts will be treated, by OIT, as a Staff member assigned to the requesting Department.
When approved by the requesting Department Head, the following information will be required:
- Full Legal Name
- Company email address
- Phone number
- Dates access will be needed (account expiration date will be set when the account is provisioned)
- Network resources they need to access.
- Requests for these types of accounts, once evaluated/approved by OIT, will be sent to HR (with the information gathered) to be enter into Jenzabar. HR will also need to know that the user is a "Contractor" or "Temp" in the requesting department. Once entered into Jenzabar, the account will be provisioned and the user will receive a "Welcome Email" as if they are a new Staff Member.
To assign a USJ Visitor account:
- Determine the USJ employee who will be responsible (if not the ticket requestor)
- Choose an unused Guest account from AD
- OU - USJ.EDU/USJ Users/USJ Service Accounts/Event Visitor Accounts
- Check the description on the Guest account to ensure it is not in use.
- Enable the account.
- Update the account description to include the TDX ticket #, User from Step 2, and date the account will expire.
- Set the account expiration (on the Account tab) to the appropriate date.
- Reset the account password.
- Test connection to USJ-WiFi (if requested) & USJ machine login.
- Provide the USJ user with the credentials.
