Requesting access for ChemDraw

Summary

This article was designed to provide a step-by-step process for individuals requiring the use of ChemDraw.

Body

Question

How do I request access to ChemDraw software?

Environment

Individuals, specifically in Pharmacy, PA and Chemistry may require the use of ChemDraw, a drawing tool that allows users to create and manipulate chemical structures, reactions, and biological objects including pathways. Users can also use it to predict properties and spectra, convert chemical structures to IUPAC names and view 3D structures.

  • Drawings: Create publication-ready drawings for use in databases, publications, and ELNs
  • 3D models: Generate 3D models of small molecules and biochemical compounds
  • Calculations: Perform calculations and actions on models to explore properties and interactions
  • Predictions: Predict properties and spectra
  • Conversions: Convert chemical structures to IUPAC names

Solution

Individuals should contact their professor who will submit their name and email address to a ChemDraw administrator (see below):

The ChemDraw administrator creates a user profile that generates an email to the individual. Each individual is required to create their unique, qualified password before being allowed to login into ChemDraw.
