January System Updates - Staff/Faculty Email

Staff and Faculty,

USJ will be migrating your user accounts and USJ issued machines accounts to our new USJ.EDU domain beginning Jan 2 at 4pm. While these migrations are going on you may find yourself unable to access USJ systems for brief periods of time.

For your machine to be migrated successfully it needs to be connected to the USJ domain on campus and turned on.  It will reboot and join the new domain automatically.  Please leave your machine on campus and powered on (user logged out) when you leave campus on Jan 02 2024.  If you and your machine are not on campus while the migration is happening, that is OK.  Bring it to the ServiceDesk when you get to campus and we will migrate it for you on the spot.  Please allow yourself time to accomplish this task (don’t show up 2 mins before you need to teach a class and expect we will get it done that quickly).

If you experience issues with your account or machine after it has been migrated please reach out to the ServiceDesk – ServiceDesk@usj.edu and the IT team will help resolve the issues with you. We will maintain a page on MYIT.usj.edu that contains helpful information and updates as this project progresses.

As part of this migration certain systems will also be unavailable periodically throughout Jan 3rd and 4th (Printing, MYUSJ etc.) we will try to keep these service interruptions to a minimum while we complete these important tasks.

Jenzabar Users – The J1 Migration is also happening Jan 2rd early morning into the afternoon.  Jenzabar will be unavailable during the migration process, an email will go out on the 2nd once the system is up and available.  You will also be getting the new J1 client pushed to your machines, do not use this until the announcement is made that J1 is live.

Last – The MYUSJ site is getting an upgrade!  Once the migration is complete MYUSJ will use Single Sign On (SSO) to login.  This is the same method we use for O365 and Blackboard so it should be familiar to all of you and provides the extra layer of security that the Multifactor Authentication (MFA) piece gives our SSO logins.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation,
