How to connect Android Mobile phones and Chromebooks to USJ-WIFI

Problem

Need to connect a wireless device (Android) to the USJ-WiFi network.  These settings also work for Chromebooks.

Environment

All wireless devices for users with an active USJ network account (Sutdents, Staff, Faculty, Alumni)

 

Resolution

From your Android wireless device, ensure that wireless is enabled, then browse the list of available networks.

  1. Choose USJ-WiFi
  2. EAP method: PEAP TLS TTLS PWD LEAP SIM AKA AKA'.  SELECT "PEAP"

  3. PHASE 2 AUTHENTICATION: none MSCHAPV2 GTC.     SELECT "MSCHAPV2"

  4. CA CERTIFICATE: Please Select    User System certificates     SELECT "Do not validate"

  5. identity: Your full USJ username

  6. If prompted for Domain, enter usj.edu

  7. password: Your current password for USJ accounts (MyUSJ, Blackboard, Outlook)

  8. advanced options: (skip)

  9. proxy: none    manual     proxy auto config

  10. ip settings: DHCP static (skip)

  11. server for students: outlook.office365.com

  12. server for faculty: outlook.office365.com

Note:  When you change your account password, you will need to Forget this network on all devices, then rejoin with your new password, or your device may lock your account.

Cause

The USJ-Wifi network is for users with an active USJ account only, and requires a login procedure and validation.
