Poly Edge - Controlling Held Calls

Placing Call On Hold

1.
While on an active call, you can press the the Hold button

When a call is on hold, the LED beside the line that has the held call will be blinking red and you will see the held call on your screen. You can resume the call by pressing the Resume softkey

To remove the held call display, press the home button. You will still see the red blinking LED beside the line key and you can still resume the held call in this view by pressing the Resume softkey

NOTE: The held call will pop back to the front after about 5 seconds if no other buttons are pressed

Placing a New Call

While you have a call on hold, you may choose to place a new call without the intent to transfer. For instance, you may be speaking with a vendor and need to consult a faculty member to confirm product information, but you do not need to transfer the caller to that faculty member.

While an active call is on hold, press the New Call button. This will pick up dial tone on the next available line on your phone

Call the number you wish to speak with and when the call is answered, you'll see 2 calls on your screen. The currently active call will be the one at the top while any held calls will be listed below with a pause icon next to it

Switch Held Calls

To return to the original caller, use the up/down arrow keys on the navigation button and highlight the held call in blue, then press Resume
 
This will automatically put the current active call on hold and make the held call active

Hold Multiple Calls

You can have more than one call held at a time on your phone. Each line with a held call will have a blinking red light next to it and there will be a list of the held calls with the caller IDs displayed

While there's one active call and one or more held calls, you can simply press the Hold softkey.

This will keep the same list, but now both calls will be on hold and you can select using the up and down arrow keys and Resume button

Transfer Held Call

It is also possible to transfer a held call.
