How to Login to Blackboard and Access Your Course (Students)

Problem

Are you registered to take a course this semester or in an upcoming semester, and cannot locate your course in Blackboard?  Follow the steps below to locate your Blackboard course shell.

Environment

Blackboard (Students)

Resolution

  1. Go to http://bb.usj.edu, and log in using your USJ username and password.
  2. The first thing you see when you log in is your Blackboard Home Page. This includes announcements and links to your Blackboard courses, as well as some useful tools like a Calendar, My Grades, and other Blackboard features.
  3. Your Blackboard courses will appear in the middle of the homepage in a section titled “My Courses." To access the content for your course, click on the course title.

Cause

Students have access to courses 7 days prior to the start of the term. Students must be officially registered for a course in order to be assigned to a course in Blackboard. If you do not see any of your courses in Blackboard and it is within 7 days of the start of the term, contact the Registrar’s office to confirm you are officially registered. If you see your course but it does not contain any content, it may be that your instructors are not using Blackboard this semester. Generally, instructors will tell you on the first day of class if they plan to use Blackboard in a course.
